Powerline survey

LiDAR

Acquisition from low altitude allows us to collect high density full waveform point cloud data. Laser data is classified into separate classes such as ground, vegetation, towers and wires.

ORTHOPHOTO

High resolution imagery is captured together with LiDAR data acquisition. Orthophotos are created from georeferenced images combined with ground DTMs obtained from the LiDAR data.

OBLIQUE IMAGERY

High resolution digital images are captured from the aircraft to detect hardware defects and catalog powerline assets.

CORONA

Using UV cameras it is possible to locate broken strands on the conductors and to identify reduced resistance of insulators usually caused by pollution.

HOT SPOT

Hot spot temperature readings are recorded from the ground during the LiDAR survey. The hot spot images are used to locate hot connections and to perform radiometric analysis of faults.

HD VIDEO

Geo-referenced HD video is recorded for the entire length of the line. The video provides visualisation assistance in conjunction with the LiDAR and photographic material.

DTM

Terrain characterising information are visualized in various ways such as Contoure lines and DTMs. Contoure lines and DTMs helps to detect erosion in powerline servitude areas.

VECTOR DATA

Powerline catenaries are vectored and attachment points on towers are exported to ASCII files together with the precise position of each tower

DANGEROUS OBJECTS

All dangerous objects in the powerline servitude area are clasified to separate point class. Vegetation proximity reports are prepared.
